Workshop: Sew unique Christmas presents out of an old shirt

We guide you ever step of the way to sew accessories out of an old shirt so you easily can sew Christmas presents for friends, family or for yourself. By using an old shirt each og the accessories become unique with its own personal history. 

The sewing workshop is perfect for beginners who know how to use the sewing machine, people who have sewn in the past but need a refresher and confident sewers who wants inspiration on how to do upcycling.

During the workshop you will learn:

- how to use and choose the right old shirt for your sewing projects instead of fabric per metre

- how to make your old shirt suitable for cutting out

- all of the necessary sewing terminology and equipment

 The only thing you need to bring is your own sewing machine, an old shirt, matching thread and basic notions. We will provide patterns, step-by-step sewing instructions with drawings, all the sewing supplies needed and a cup of coffee or tea.

If you don't have an old shirt, you can also use a dress, a tablecloth, a bedsheet or any other piece of cotton weave fabric, as long as it is non-stretch and non-slippery fabric. So, clear out yours or your partner's wardrobe or visit the local secondhand shop. 

What you need to bring to the workshop: 

Your own sewing machine, basic notions (thread, pins, ruler, seam ripper and scissors) and a shirt or other fabric in cotton weave, non-stretch and non-slippery.

What will be provided at the workshop:

Sewing supllies, patterns, step by step sewing instructions and a hot drink.

Import information:

Unless otherwise noted, workshops are for those 12 years of age or over.

The workshops are maximum four participants. 

The workshops are held at Café C’est Ici L’endroit oü in a designated area. 

Our workshops are held in English.
